BLYNE Helmet

In collaboration with BLYNE, a music producing duo based in Berlin, Lauren Steel designed a custom helmet that would visually represent their music. After initial prototype was created CAD designer Daniel Vogel-Essex, converted the design into a CAD file creating a 3-D pattern used for laser cutting the plexi-glass material. The helmet was constructed by hand, using a base layer made from mirrored plexi-glass with pyramids of iridescent plexi-glass built over the top of the mirrored base, creating an infinite 3-D effect.
