LVC - A Conspiracy of Ravens
In 2012,Lauren Steel, formerly known as Lauren Victoria Craig, founded LVC, an independent fashion label. The Collection, A CONSPIRACY OF RAVENS - S/S 2017, was presented for Berlin Fashion Week at Spreegalerie Alexanderplatz. Lauren Steel collaborated with music producer Michael Klein, in which he created a unique soundtrack for the show, as well as conceptualized a reactive light sculpture used as the backdrop to the show. Using dancers instead of models to present the collection, Lauren Steel worked with The Siciliano Contemporary Ballet, collaborating with founder and choreographer Salvatore Siciliano to create a dynamic choreography for presenting the collection.
A CONSPIRACY OF RAVENS, is an almost obsolete term used as a collective noun for a group of ravens. Like the fading term, so are the ravens themselves fading into our ever sprawling urban landscapes. This collection is a tribute to these birds. Finding the space within our metropolis architecture where the remnants of these wild birds exist. A CONSPIRACY OF RAVENS seeks to explore the beauty in this juxtaposition between organic nature and the rigid geometry of our cities.
Custom Print Design
For this collection Lauren Steel collaborated with designer Achilleas Gatsopoulos, who developed a custom print design. The approach to the design was to create and architectural interpretation of a birds wing, broken up by the speckles found on birds eggs.
